Tody opens this song in a whispering tone that quickly changes as his voice rises, higher and stronger on the chorus, only to return grounded and confessional.

This is about Tody’s grandfather who fought in the South Pacific islands during WWII flying gliders. The song touches on his grandfather’s experience there and then follows his life as he grows old and finally passes away before Tody gets the chance to ask him all of these questions about the war that he wonders about to this day.
